Day 1 – Corfu to Paxos
30nmÂ
Arrive in Corfu Town, known locally as Kerkyra, on the islandâs eastern coast. Its UNESCO-listed Old Town is a maze of narrow streets lined with colourful buildings, boutiques and cafĂ©s, with centuries of Venetian influence still visible throughout. Explore the Liston Promenade and the Old and New Fortresses, both overlooking the sea, before cruising south towards Paxos.
Smaller and quieter than Corfu, Paxos is known for its clear waters, peaceful coves and traditional villages. Explore the coastline by yacht, stopping at secluded bays and sea caves for swimming and snorkelling, before heading ashore to wander through Gaios, Loggos or Lakka, where Venetian architecture sits alongside traditional Greek island life. As evening falls, settle into one of the islandâs family-run tavernas for fresh seafood and local dishes.
Day 2 – Paxos to Antipaxos
3nmÂ
Just south of Paxos lies Antipaxos, a tiny island best known for its clear waters, secluded bays and beaches. Voutoumi and Vrika are among the most popular places to stop, with calm water well suited to swimming, snorkelling and time at anchor.
Away from the coast, the island is covered with olive groves, vineyards, native vegetation and woodland, giving it a distinctly rural character. Despite its small size, Antipaxos has a welcoming local community, with simple tavernas and bars offering the chance to experience a quieter side of the Ionian.
Day 3 – Antipaxos to Lefkada
30nmÂ
Continue south to Lefkada, set in the heart of the Ionian and connected to the mainland by a small bridge.
The island is known for its coastline and beaches, with pale cliffs meeting blue water along the west coast and more sheltered cruising grounds to the east. Spend time exploring some of Lefkadaâs best-known stretches of coast before heading to Nidri for the evening. Set on the islandâs eastern side, Nidri is a lively harbour overlooking the surrounding islets and provides an atmospheric place to berth for the night.
Day 4 – Lefkada to Meganisi
10nm
Across the water from Lefkada and Skorpios lies Meganisi, a small island shaped by a series of deep bays and sheltered inlets. Its coastline is particularly well suited to exploring by yacht, with quiet anchorages for swimming and snorkelling alongside seafront tavernas and small villages.
Visit Vathy, where yachts sit alongside traditional fishing boats, or explore the Church of Agios Ioannis, originally built in the 15th century. Papanikolis Cave is another highlight and is best reached by tender, while beaches including Fanari and Spilia offer further places to spend time on the water.
Day 5 – Meganisi to Ithaca
20nm
Ithaca, known in Greek mythology as the home of Odysseus, combines its Homeric history with a landscape of rocky coastline, wooded hills and sheltered bays.
For those wanting to explore inland, Homerâs School near Exogi can be reached along a walking trail, with views across Afales Bay along the way. Back on the coast, Dexa and Mnimata are close to Vathy, while Gidaki Beach to the north is particularly well suited to arriving by yacht, with clear water for swimming and watersports.
Day 6 – Ithaca to Kefalonia
16nm
Kefalonia is one of the most varied islands in the Ionian, combining mountain scenery, vineyards, beaches and harbour villages. Mount Ainos rises across the islandâs interior, covered with Kefalonian fir trees and offering excellent walking for those wanting to spend time ashore.
Elsewhere, explore Assos, discover the islandâs wineries or make the most of its coastline. Kefalonia has also provided inspiration for writers and filmmakers over the years, from Lord Byron to its role as the setting for Captain Corelliâs Mandolin.
Day 7 – Kefalonia to Zakynthos
39nm
Finish in Zakynthos, an island known for its limestone coastline, clear water and sea caves. Navagio, or Shipwreck Beach, is its most recognisable landmark, while the Blue Caves are another highlight and are best explored from the water. Spend time cruising between coves, swimming and snorkelling before heading ashore for the final evening. Seek out a picturesque local Tavern the serves the freshest seafood whilst soaking in the view for a final time.
